Hi,
My name is Jamo Gonzalez and I am a junior in the comdes program. I will be graduating in the fall of 2014. I am from Austin and commute to Texas State. Ive always loved to draw since I was a kid and have really been able to explore new fields of art through the different art studio classes offered here.
Since I am an auto enthusiast, here is a link to Top Gear, a great and funny show about cars http://www.youtube.com/user/TopGear
This link has numerous custom typefaces that i found to be really cool and creative

Walker: Introductions
Hi, I'm Gabriel Walker but you can just call me Gabe.
I used to watch homestarrunner.com in middle school, discovered Old Gregg in high school, and Troll 2 in college. All of these things have made me the man I am today.
I'm the youngest in my family of 6 from Houston, TX. (specifically Friendswood)
I really like music, I play a mean recorder, tenor-saxophone, piano, and dabble in guitar.
I also like soccer and rock climbing a lot.
If Stefan Sagmeister and Erik Speikerman got in a fight I think David Carson would win.
I found this infographic about a week ago here.
Here's something I have recently done!
kbye.

Castillo: Introductions
Hello Type 2!
My name is Matt Castillo, and I'm heading into my senior year of ComDes. I was recently hired as a Junior Designer at Taecho Group, a local web & branding design firm. Career-wise, I'm partial to web and UI design, but I love solving all kinds of graphic problems.
This is a poster that I designed as an intern this past February. It was printed with silver ink on black paper and I'm pretty proud of it.
Typography is awesome, and I'm looking forward to the next few weeks!

Delarosa: Introductions
Well, HI THERE.
I'm Krista and I should be graduating with my BFA in both comdes & photography sometime before the end of the world (fingers crossed).
I'm heavily interested in Kinfolk magazine & well…coffee. My goal in life is to go to as many coffee shops as I can and rate their cortado, dirty chai, and cold brew. (I'm convinced that somewhere along this caffeinated journey, somebody is going to discover me and then pay me to travel the world and continue this INTENSE lifestyle etc etc etctetcetcte). Handsome Coffee Roasters and Stumptown Coffee Roasters are my weakness. I'm currently interning at The Wellgro Co. which is pretty much the most awesome lifestyle brand advocating real food for real people. I'm huge with supporting local farmers, anything/everything organic, and just eating REAL food.
I haven't uploaded anything type related, personally, but I am immensely interested in Kyle Steed's work. He's basically this awesome illustrator who has mastered the art of hand drawn typography.

Introductions: Williams
Hello everyone, my name is Christian A. Williams and I'm a Senior in the Communication Design program with an expected graduation date of December 2013. I'm very excited to finish the remainder of my coursework, but also enthusiastic to learn additional skills to add to my repertoire as a designer.
Something about myself that I take great pride in outside of being a designer is my music. I am a rapper and it's something I'd consider myself to be fairly good at. I'm a bit old school in the fact that I enjoy making songs that have meaning and a message (unlike much of what you hear in modern rap). Being successful in that is my dream, but as a realist my goal is to attain my degree and work toward my goal of establishing myself in the graphic design industry. Once I graduate I'll be able to re-focus on that and I feel my degree will afford me opportunities to work in locations, such as New York or California, that will also allow me to position myself to continue reaching for my dream. Here's a little something I did awhile back. If you listen I hope you enjoy.
As far as typographical things go I enjoy type most when it's used in unconventional ways. I know in this course we'll learn to use type in projects that are probably more professional and corporate based (which I really do want to learn) but I enjoy custom type solutions and kinetic typography. Those are skills I admire and wish to continue to learn more about as well. Here's a link to an article on PSD Tuts Plus that has some really nice custom type solutions created for various albums over the years:
50 Years of Typography in Album Covers
As far as kinetic type goes this is probably one of the more interest samples I've come across over the years. It includes a lot of type faces that are quite recognizable. Enjoy! I look forward to a wonderful summer session.

Torres: Introduction
Hello. My name is Luis and I'm a Junior at Texas State. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and I love to draw. I really dig some of the architecture of Puerto Rico because of its forms and colors.
I'm really interested in illustration and typography. In some of my illustrations i like to play with the idea of these two identities marrying.
That's it.
Thank you.
