Blackmor: Title Ideas: "Merely a Symbol"
I originally was working with Water/Water Marbling Art (Ebru) but feel I will be switching to high end Fashion Designer logos and why consumers choose to purchase them (mainly basing it on the reason of the logo) The name of I am aiming for my exhibit is, "Merely a Symbol". And how just a (LARGE) symbol can have an impact on an actual product that one might indulge in or feel the need to over buy TAKING OVER THEIR LIVES.

I think you have an interesting title and concept. It seems like the thumbnails are focused on symbols, but I'm not quite getting the connection to fashion. I think it could be more confrontational too, since you are making a statement with this exhibit. Here are some random thoughts:
ReplyDelete- Word 'symbol' large and ominous
- Women are "branded"
- Letters form a recognizable logo, but are made of money, or some cheap material
- Reflection of greed, consumerism
I really like your exhibit and title! I agree with Laurel-I am not seeing any connections to high-end fashion. Perhaps the work within the exhibit should be in more consideration. However, out of these sketches I really like the concept of using "a" as a symbol. I personally do not think you need an arrow in front of Symbol, but you could definitely add emphasis to the "a" (like the middle right).
ReplyDeleteGreat concept for the exhibit, maybe you could try to emulate the style of some of the logos of the high end brands you're talking about, at least with the A like Cydney suggested?
