Mood Board #1 - Edgy
Mood Board #2 - Playful
Mood Board #3 - Refined
I briefly included and discussed the different possibilities of the exhibit themes in the creative brief:
The exhibit, Prismatic,
will be taking place at the Palm Springs Art Museum in California. This exhibit
will showcase contemporary colored-glass art work. Not only will there be many
glass panel pieces but there will also be large glass sculptures placed in the
center of the rooms. Through descriptions of the art pieces, people will learn
or have a better understanding on how glass art is made and what many glass
work artists try to accomplish when creating an art piece. It is also highly
hopeful that the spectators, when leaving the exhibit, will have a greater appreciation
of abstract glass art work.
The type of audience that will be targeted to attend Prismatic will be based on the set theme
or mood of the exhibit. For instance, if the exhibit will revolve around the
idea of being playful and entertaining children, then it would be wise to focus
on marketing the exhibit to families and elementary schools. (Of course, safety
precautions would have to be strongly considered when designing the exhibit.) However,
if the atmosphere of the exhibit will be refinement, elegance, and grace, then
the targeted audience would be anyone who do very much enjoy a quiet night out
in the city and are roughly between the ages of thirty and fifty. People who
have an open mind and especially those who are in their twenties would be
strongly encouraged to attend Prismatic if
it is planned for the word, “edgy,” to be kept in mind when walking around the
exhibit. The color scheme, art works, and the typography of the title will play
a large part in establishing the mood of Prismatic.
*Additional Note: The concept of the #7 thumbnail sketch will be used in the exhibit title.
