Background
The art of drawing extinct and ancient life has been traditionally regarded as the stuff of textbooks and children’s books. The truth, however, is that much thought and time is put into these works of art, and they deserve recognition for their work in creating both attractive and scientifically correct imagery.
Target Audience
Almost everyone seems to enjoy dinosaurs to some degree, from children to professional paleontologists well into their elder years.
Competitive Landscape
The exhibit will be likely near and around other art or paleo-related attention seeking environments, and thus will have to stand on its own amongst them or risk being overlooked.
Call to Action
To think of imagery that one would normally see in more “mediocre” environments as the art that it really is.
MOOD BOARDS
Old School: Art majorly from classics like Charles Knight and contemporaries like Mark Hallett. The art focuses on animals in action, with an emphasis of being physically accurate.
Playful: More child-like and fun than scientific. Focus on the imagination of the artists used to recreate extinct animals, their actions, and their personalities. Artists include David Silva and Mark Hallett.
Somber: Conveys the silence of a world lacking in humanity, and that no human was ever alive to witness. Artists include Charles Knight and Doug Henderson.
