Late-twentieth Century: Progressive Music Album Artwork
The time signature (also known as meter signature,[1] metre signature,[2] bar signature,[3] or measure signature[4]) is a notational convention used in Western musical notation to specify how many beats are in each measure and which note value constitutes one beat.
Most of my ideas include making the lettering out of real objects that are music related. The other direction I might take is to make the lettering out off surreal landscape paintings, which is common in the artwork.
I would like to see you do something with the sheet music, incorporating it into the background possibly.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking to you should use the word "compound" instead of "odd", but then I realized its dual meaning as an both an odd number and something bizarre. Very cool. My favorite is the one on the top-right of page 2, the surrealist landscape. It's sort of like that painting "Garden of Earthly Delights" by Hieronymus Bosch. Makes me think of weird album art right away.
ReplyDeleteI think you should go with something surrealist and weird. It will really go well with the title and give a clearer idea of what the exhibit includes. I like either the top right on page two or the one below it work well.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see it be a bit more strange.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the others on pushing it a more surreal (or "odd") direction. Also I think using a square, album cover shape for the signage would be a nice touch.
