What is the content of your exhibition?
The exhibition will show the atmosphere of the 1970s German
experimental music scene and the importance the city of Berlin had on it. The
content of the show would include original album artwork and concepts, instruments
and unseen photographs. The exhibit would be aided by the continuous playing of
selected songs and videos.
What museums will it be shown in?
I imagine this exhibit would be shown at a art museum rather
than one for music. One reason is to highlight the fact that many artists in
this scene started off as visual artists before switching to music.
Who is your intended audience?
Music and art connoisseurs of all ages looking to learn more
about this music scene. It would appeal to people who lived through it as well
people who had never heard the term ‘krautrock’ before. There would be emphasis
on the artists and musicians the scene influenced.
What do you want them to feel/think/learn/etc. in response
to the exhibit?
I would hope the audience would leave with a greater
appreciation of the music scene and its importance in music history.
