While researching to find examples of exhibitions that showcased the title I found it important to find examples that contained work that was not only visually appealing to me, but also conceptually appealing. The reason for this was to hopefully stimulate my mind and help push me in a direction with regards to figuring out my own concept.

The first example is from a gallery titled
"The Globe Shrinks" by Barbara Kruger. The installation was projected on four walls in a dark room at the Mary Boone Gallery. It's a compilation of video clips that have a psychological message to the viewer. At times it allows one to be the spectator of everyday events that we're all usually exposed to on a daily basis, while at other times scenarios are created that place the viewer in the first person perspective with a goal to get some sort of emotional response that forces one to think. The second example I found that intrigued me was an installation by the name of
"Nihilistic Optimistic". Outside of having a really cool name, the content is equally as cool. If it's any indication the clever display of the title gives a preview of what one could expect to see. The title is created with what appears to neon lighting with the word in the foreground lit and the word in the background unlit as if it were a shadow. The gallery is composed of statues made from trash that project shadows that mimic human figures. It's absolutely amazing to think of the time and planning that goes into creating one of these pieces, let alone an entire exhibition.
