First off, if you're not familiar with frothing, please pay close attention:
okay, so yeah, when i say frothing, I mean latte art. So, you know when you go to your favorite coffee shop and get a latte in a mug and usually see either a heart or a leaf etc etc? YEAH, THAT'S WHAT I WANT TO MAKE A BOOK ABOUT.
But, really, I think latte art really doesn't get all the recognition it deserves. Unless you go on instagram and look under #latteart and see a bunch of tweens and pretentious baristas filtering their latte art away.
Oh, I forgot to really break down what frothing/latte art actually is; it's basically the art form created by pouring steamed milk into a shot of espresso. Don't know if you know this, but I'm technically in a relationship with espresso. and by technically i really mean literally and by literally i really mean hey you should get me some coffee.
OK, COOL, SO THIS BOOK IS OBVIOUSLY GOING TO BE FILLED WITH TONS OF FROTHING. FROTHING GONE WILD. XX. PLEASE ASK YOUR PARENTS FOR PERMISSION BEFORE OPENING THIS BOOK, ETC ETC.
I really want to focus on latte art around the Austin area. I'm kind of obsessed with coffee shops in atx. I mean, THERE ARE JUST SO MANY AND THEY ARE ALL SO GREAT. So, I want this book to be about latte art and the making of it and blah blah blah.
I'll be doing all the picture taking so I can put my photography degree to good use, duh.
In terms of title for this exhibition… uhhh…I don't know. I REALLY WANT TO INCORPORATE THE WORD "FROTH" BECAUSE I SERIOUSLY LOVE THAT WORD.
Froth. Frothing. It just rolls off the tongue. I need to get creative here.
But, I'm pretty much brain dead at the moment. So, in the meantime, here are pictures of latte art.
