One of my favorite designers, the anonymous Japanese 'Nosigner,' launched OLIVE an impressively swift 40 hours after the earthquake that devastated Japan in 2011. It's a wiki project which allows contributors to share tips for survival and the improvement of everyday life in the wake of disaster, like how to make essential objects out of garbage/debris. Though the project began online, its resources are now being distributed through print and exhibitions.
